POWH oncology/radiation waiting area refurbishment
Dreams2Live4 has been working very hard on a project to refurbish the waiting areas, both inside and out, for people attending the oncology and radiation department at POW.
On June 21st Led by Anthony Clarke & Jeremy Smith of Grow Landscape & Design, a team of volunteers spent their day replanting the courtyard garden. Work started at 7am and it took several hours to remove the old plants and prepare the soil for planting. Loads of rich dark soil and potting mix were added to ensure a healthy garden in the future. Volunteers including a couple of toddlers, family and friends of patients and staff all worked extremely hard to get the job done in one day! New plants include 4 spectacular magnolia trees, gardenias and star jasmine. Beautiful pots were donated by Will Dangar and plants were donated by Jeremy Smith from professional Plant Solutions, Newmar treee Farms, Greenworld Wholesale Nursery and Australian Native Landscapes.
Hugh Maurice and his boys from Trickle Water Solutions worked extremely hard to install an irrigation system for 90% of the new garden. The garden has been planned to be very low maintenance and will grown into a little perfumed paradise for the patients and staff to enjoy.
Dial and Dump Industries and Atlantis Water Management also generously donated to the project.
Many thanks to all the volunteers and donors for their time and effort. Special thanks to Anthony Clarke without whose talent, generosity and hard work, none of this would have been possible.
